Reserve bank to devalue currency / power-sharing negotiations to resume

ENGLAND: London: GIR: INT Morgan Tsvangirai (Leader, Movement for Democratic Change) 2-WAY interview SOT - One of our key demands for the negotiations to take place was that violence must stop, detainees must be released, the humanitarian crisis must be resolved, NGOs must be allowed to do their work because of food shortages / it is obvious that we can't evaluate every bit of our demands to have been satisfied because the negotiations have taken place in a environment in which, we have, we think, that violence is decreased / like any negotiations there are problems that are obstacles to an agreement, yes there have been sticking points, some issues have been ironed out and others are outstanding, we hope that as the negotiations proceed they will find a common compromise / the settlement generally could be a transitional arrangement that will allow for the parties to deal with the issues of the rule of law, constitution, human terror and intervention, also deal with the issues of economic recovery in the interim, no more than 2 years in our perspective / the role of Robert Mugabe, the role of Morgan Tsvangirai in the envisaged co-sharing government would have to be discussed by the negotiating parties, I am not in a position of defining what his role would be, I hope it will allow him the process of an honourable exit / I have already sat face to face with Robert Mugabe, during the signing of the MOU, we had dinner together, we discussed the issues of where the country is going, I'm sure there was a common understanding that there is need to soft land the crisis through a transitional process / until you meet the man [Robert Mugabe] you realise that he is just as human as everyone of us, he has similar concerns, although of course I think he is ignorant or chooses to be in a denial stage as far as the violence is concerned / [asked if he could work with Mugabe] that I cannot say because it is part of the negotiations
