Will & Grace was a groundbreaking staple of NBC's legendary "Must See TV" lineup in the network's golden era of Friends, Seinfeld, Mad About You and Frasier. The American show was the highest-rated sitcom in the coveted 18-49 demographic from 2001-2005, earned 16 Emmy awards (and a whopping 83 nominations) and returns for a highly anticipated Season 9 after an 11-year hiatus.
The comedy debuted on September 21, 1998 and quickly upgraded to the coveted "Must See TV" Thursday block. Beyond its influence in the comedy world, the series was also the first primetime TV show in history to star openly gay lead characters. Vice President Joe Biden even stated, "I think Will & Grace did more to educate the American public than almost anything anybody has ever done. People fear that which is different. Now they're beginning to understand."
