Fred Drenkhan Leaning over Water Fountain

(Original Caption) Bay Village patrolman Fred Drenkhan stops for a drink of water during recess in the trial of Dr. Samuel Sheppard, accused wife-killer. On the witness stand for the second day, Drenkhan, who was the first police officer on the scene of the July 4th slaying, testified there was no evidence of entrance into the murder bedroom from any of three windows in the room. Defense questioning earlier in the week explored the possibility that an intruder could have gained access to the bedroom by climbing a tree outside the bedroom window.
