The couple met in London during the last war and the complicated rules of succession to the throne have but all too long delayed this marriage. The wedding ceremony took place in the Royal Chapel of the Drottningholm Castle by Stockholm after which the couple, with guests in limousines, were taken to the Stockholm Palace where [they] were received in the inner courtyard by an honor guard of bearskin-capped grenadiers from the Royal Svea Household Cavalry of Sweden before entering the Palace for the luncheon there served afterwards.
