Soldiers See Bodies in Truck

(Original Caption) Dachau, the most infamous Nazi concentration camp of all, has been overrun by men of the 42nd Rainbow Division of the 7th army. Scenes of appalling horror were witnessed by the American troops as they went from building to building. Thousands of starved corpses were piled nearly to the roof of outhouses awaiting cremation, and thousands of living prisoners went crazy with joy as they saw the soldiers crash into their prison. Many of the prisoners immediately seized their SS torturers and killed them, throwing their bodies into the moat surrounding the camp. This Polish prisoner died sitting upright in a wagon.
