Visitors walk past a painting which is part of a large-scale exhibition entitled The Splendour of Medici-Art and Life in Renaissance Florence which opened 24 January 2008 at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, to commemmorate the 550th anniversary of Matthias Corvinus as king of Hungary. The approximately two-hundred works displayed at the exhibition, provide visitors with an insight into the Medici patronage and art collection, as well as into the culture and life of the period defined by this family, which left the most visible mark on the golden age of Renaissance Florence.
