Guarding the Depths - stock photo

One of the (many) stunning features at the Grand Canyon in Arizona is the amazing old bristlecone pine trees, some of which are thousands of years old. Their gnarled appearance makes for a stunning frame as they overlook the depths of the Grand Canyon. They seem to me like guards, sentinels who watch over the beauty of the depths below season after season, year after year, and century after century. This monochrome image gives a unique framing of the famous canyon.
