The 44-foot tall steel Indian Warrior sculpture is called 'The Keeper of the Plains', and was created by the Indian artist Blackbear Bosin in 1974. The suspended foot bridge was added later to allow foot traffic to cross over the Arkansas River and into Keeper Of The Plains Plaza located at the base of the statue. This land is sacred ground to the Native American people.
