De Laurentiis was a giant in the Italian film industry and produced such films as the Oscar-winning Federico Fellini film "La Strada", "Barabbas" starring Anthony Quinn, "The Bible" with John Huston, and "Barbarella" with a young Jane Fonda. After moving his productions to the United States in the 1970s, he produced "Serpico" with Al Pacino and "Conan the Destroyer" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
