Dr. Willard H. Dow Accepting Award
(Original Caption) Dr. Willard H. Dow, (right) President and Chairman of the the Board, the Dow Chemical Company, receives, on behalf of his company, from Colonel Alfred H. White, chairman of the Award Committee and head of the Department of Chemical and Metallurgical engineering, University of Michigan, the 1941 Award for Chemical Engineering Achievement at a dinner in the University Club, Dec. 2nd. The award, established in 1933 and presented biennially by the McGraw-Hill magazine, Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, was awarded to the Dow Chemical Company for its pioneering research in the recovery of metallic magnesium from sea water.
