General Ridgeway and Others Attending Elysee Reception

(Original Caption) Foreign Minister Anthony Eden, General Matthew B. Ridgeway with Mrs. Ridgeway, (L) and Mrs. Eden (R), are shown at the Elysee Palace where the French President Vincent Auriol received NATO delegates and other high officials. The Foreign Minister spoke at an American Club Luncheon today before returning home from the Atlantic Pact council. He said that he hoped one day the U.S., Britain, and Canada "will get into" the greater community being created in Europe. Eden was referring to the six-nation United States of Europe idea that has taken root around the coal-steel pool plan of French Foreign Minister Schuman.
