Portrait of Fletcher Prouty
(Original Caption) Washington: Retired Col. Fletcher Prouty said the CIA, late 1959 or early 1960, dispatched a pair of two-man teams armed with rifles to kill Cuban Premier Fidel Castro. Prouty also was the source for the report that former Presidential aide Alexander Butterfield, was a CIA "contact man" in the White House. Here Prouty talks with newsmen after an interview with members of the staff of the House Select Committee on Intelligence.
