Khi solar one is a thermal solar power plant with a 50mw capacity operated by Spanish company Coxabengoa. About 4000 Helliostats (mirrors) pivot according to the sun's position to reflect and concentrate sunlight onto the tower which heats water to evaporation, which is then directed to turbines to generate power. The refuse water is then processed and treated before being poured into open air basins. The plant is able to run even when the sun is down because of the Thermal accumulator tanks (Thermal Storage) which stores high temperature water mixed with chemicals.
