Asmara, ERITREA: This 04 September 2005 image shows the Fiat Tagliero building in Asmara, a former gas station shaped as an airplane, which is a modernist icon of the Eritrean capital. The building is one of the three endangered historical sites in Eritrea, according to the World Monuments Fund (WMF). Eritrea is the African country with the most endangered sites, said WMF, and is in need of funds to preserve its cultural heritage.
