(Original Caption) With all the pomp and ceremony of an Olympiad, the 2nd day of the 1964 dual track and field meet between the United States and Russia got under way 7/26 in the Coliseum. The US flag bearer is Bob Hayes (left) who was forced to give up competition in the meet due to an injury. carrying the hammer and sickle banner for the Russians is Pyotr Bolotnikov, the 5000 meter runner.
