HYOGO, JAPAN – JAN. 16: About 6000 candles were lit to remember the victims killed by the 1995 earthquake that hit Japan's Kobe city and the area around it. In Itami city, near Kobe, the event started from the evening just before January 17 when the killer quake attacked early in the morning of that day 21 years ago. The candles were kept alight for 12 hours until the fatal moment at 5:46 a.m.
