Congressman Comer blames regulation over market for prescription drug prices at House hearing

House Oversight and Reform Committee Ranking Member Jamie Comer says at the first of two hearings with pharmaceutical executives that the hearings seemed designed to vilify publishing pharmaceutical company executives but a productive set of hearings would consider pros and cons of various reforms, seek to retain positives from the current system and identify improvements where necessary and possible but it's the Democrats were easier to cast witnesses as villains and blame them for costs and access issues in the private sector which were more complicated, many of the greatest healthcare initiatives and innovations in the past hundred years having happened in America not because of government dictates but from tireless work of individuals having the freedom to experiment and compete and improve lives.
