Vieira shows a New York Post cover showing a doctored image of Tiger Woods bandaged from injuries and his wife holding a wedge golf club. Min says the interesting thing is for the women Tiger Woods had affairs with, it’s their fifteen minutes of fame. She says they’re done with Tiger Woods and it’s on to the next step for them. Adubato says his wife has said it would be a driver and not a wedge for him. He says Tiger Woods, greatest golfer of all time, one of the worst communicators under pressure he’s ever seen. He says you don’t wait more than 24-hours to make a public statement, even if that’s what your advisors tell you. He says go on video, let people see you and speak for yourself, don’t attack other people for spreading malicious rumors if you know the truth is more embarrassing than they think it is. Min says she thinks Woods has handled it well. She says sports fans forgive a million sins. Adubato says Woods’ brand is different from the average athlete. He says in the short term his brand is damaged, in the long term, no. Min says Woods is going to be fine; the male pundits on TV have forgiven him. Adubato says he wants to separate Woods’ marriage and what he did or didn’t do and respect his privacy and he’s more interested in how Woods’ handled it once the incident happened. He says in that regard Woods’ failed and made it worse than it otherwise would have been. He says Woods shouldn’t wait until the next tournament and hold a press conference, make a statement, and answer questions within a tight parameter, but be forthright and candid. Min says there is no reason Woods needs to do that. She says the fans are willing to forgive him already and all he has to do is win a tournament. She says the more he speaks, the more he validates the story. Adubato says if Woods came in and had a candid conversation on “Today” and came across as contrite, it would go much further than what he’s done to date. He says he believes Woods thinks he knows best, and on the golf course he does, but in the court of public opinion, he doesn’t. 08:19:34 Today’s Holiday Gift Guide: Unique Toys For Kids: TodayMoms.com’s Elizabeth Werner Discusses Unique Toy Gifts For Children TodayMoms.com Toy Expert Elizabeth Werner joins Matt Lauer live in Studio 1A.
