El Universo newspaper's editor will stay Panamania

Quito, 1 Mar (EFE).- (Camera: Fernando Arroyo) Ecuadorian main opposition newspaper El Universo's Editor, Carlos Perez, will stay at the Panamanian Embassy in Quito, Ecuador, even though Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa had said that he had pardoned Perez, his brothers Cesar and Nicolas Perez and former El Universo's opinion editor Emilio Palacio in libel case. Perez, who took refuge in the diplomatic quarter last February 16th, and the three other high-ranking workers were condenmed to a three-years in jail and the Court fined the defendants USD $40 million after they were found gilty in a slander case.
