Children Face Starvation In War-Torn Yemen

Yemen's six years of war have left hundreds of thousands of people killed, devastated the country, battered much of its infrastructure, created chronic food shortages in the country whose crisis becomes the world's worst crisis. Due to the war continuing, families grow poorer and nearly half of Yemen’s population, 13.5 million people, are struggling to get enough food including 3.6 million are already in an “emergency” stage of food shortage. 16,500 have reached “catastrophe, estimating that 400,000 children are at risk of dying of hunger, according to the United Nations.
