FRANCE-HEALTH-CHEMICAL-BISPHENOL
An employee of Massilly, a company which manufatures food metallic packaging, works on a line of cans covered by a polish containing the chemical Bisphenol-A, on October 8, 2012 in Massily. One year after the National Assembly, the French senate will exam on October 9, 2012, a socialist proposal for a law prohibiding the bisphenol-A used in the food packagings. BPA is used in the production of polycarbonated plastics and epoxy resins found in baby bottles, plastic containers, the lining of cans used for food and beverages, and in dental sealants. France has banned baby bottles containing the chemical due to suspicions that it harms human development. AFP PHOTO/PHILIPPE DESMAZES (Photo credit should read PHILIPPE DESMAZES/AFP/GettyImages)
