CHICAGO, IL - JUNE 09: Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity CEO Matthew Johnson introduces Julie Donovan, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity Lake County, and Habitat homeowner Jesus at the inaugural Habitat Hero Award Dinner held June 9 at the Loews Chicago Hotel. John Edwardson, retired CEO of CDW, and The Valspar Corporation were honored, recognizing decades of leadership and commitment in their roles working with Habitat in the Chicago area and beyond. Over 300 guests toasted the awardees and helped commemorate 40 years of Habitat for Humanity building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. The night raised over $900,000 to create a better life for families across the region, including a $100,000+ paddle raise to cover the average cost of building a Habitat home.
