New Delhi, INDIA: Indian diners eat a special mass lunch of some 27 vegetables known as 'Onam Sadya' in New Delhi, 04 September 2006, ahead of The Onam Festival. Onam which is celebrated 05 September, in memory of King Mahabali is one of the most significant harvest festivals of Kerala and is an attraction for thousands of people outside and within the state. It was said that King Mahabali ruled Kerala a long time ago and looked after the welfare of the people. Homes are decorated with ''Pookalam'' a symbol of welcoming King Mahabali onto one's house.
