UNITED KINGDOM - DECEMBER 01: Miss England was built for Henry Segrave (1896-1930) by the Power Boat Company (PBC) of Hythe, Isle of Wight. PBC used a single Napier Lion engine and employed aircraft techniques to give the boat a more scientific hull with a much lighter structure. In Miss England, Segrave regained the Motor Boat Championship of the World from Gar Wood at Miami in March 1929. Segrave also put in a time of 91.91 mph, making Miss England the fastest single-engined boat in the world, but falling short of Wood's absolute speed record. (Photo by SSPL/Getty Images)
