Tata Guines, the "King of the Congas", who died on February 4 of kidney cancer, was Cuba's most famous percussionist and played together with Frank Sinatra, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis while he was living in the USA. After Fidel Castro's revolution in 1959, he returned to Cuba. He was part of the Buena Vista Social Club and played the Congas in the Grammy award winning "Lagrimas Negras" by Bebo Valdes and Spanish Flamenco singer El Cigala.
