Steve Coles of the Sydney City Councils Homeless persons information centre ...in town hall square.The centre, situated in Sydney City Council premiers on the corner of Kent and Druitt streets and funded by the State Government, is NSW's only referral point for all areas of crisis accommodation.The number of single adult females requesting help has increased by 40 percent from 1,000 calls in 1992 to 1,401 in 1993.But the highest increase of 48.6 percent has come from domestic violence victims - 1,492 requests for accommodation last year compared with 1,004 in 1992.
