Wakayama Japan – April 19,2019:ISakurajima Island is an active volcano in Kinko Bay, Kagoshima Prefecture, in the southern part of Kyushu, Japan. Approximately　12km east-west, 10km north-south, 55km circumference, and 77km2 area. As the name suggests, it used to be an island, but due to the Taisho eruption in 1914, it was connected to the Osumi Peninsula on the opposite shore. A relatively new volcano among Japanese volcanoes. There are many records of eruptions, and it is still active today. Luxurious cruise ships from all over the world call at Kinko Bay.
