Senator McConnell press exchange on summer session, healthcare, Russia inquiries

Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell feels questions from the press at a weekly press briefing about his extending the summer session two weeks into August, and email and meeting during the 2016 campaign season involving Donald Trump, Jr, trusting President Donald Trump and dealing with the statutory debt ceiling. McConnell says the additional floor time will be used for a healthcare repeal and replace effort, defense authorization, Food and Drug Administration funding and outstanding nominees backlog. McConnell says the Senate Intelligence Committee will get to the bottom of whatever happened between Russia and Trump, that the two committee leaders have ball control on the matter. McConnell says it would be ideal to raise the density ceiling before the summer recess, and that it will be raised.
