Congressman Meuser floor remarks on SAVE Act after legislation passes
Pennsylvania Congressman Dan Meuser says in floor remarks that earlier all 216 of his GOP colleagues along with just four out of 212 Democrats passed the SAVE Act mandating proof of citizenship for voter registration, noting that while most people thought this was already required by the Constitution, some states had systems allowing non-citizens to register and vote, and citing the example of a state that identified 277 non-citizens on voter rolls with 35 of them having voted, arguing that opposition to the SAVE Act amounted to allowing non-citizens to vote in American elections.
